Julius Vom Hofe "PRESIDENT" Quick-Apart Patent #488,408 Dec. 20, 1892. A very rare reel seldom seen and never this nice. This was Julius Vom Hofe patent applied Quick Takapart reel that can come completely apart in 5 seconds. Simply unscrew the fine knurled thumb screw with the rod connected located on rear plate. That single simple rod goes through the spool locks into the front plate keeping the entire reel together. Once done now you can easily access all internal parts of the reel for quick cleaning or oiling. You dont need any tools to totally service this fine reel. This reel is in great condition, spins fast and smooth with a strong clicker. The Nickel silver is in very fine condition with the hard rubber clean and shows fantastic. You can clearly see “PRESIDENT” on the backplate hard rubber. Great old time lassic.
